Maintenance Manager

  • Work within a modern, established business who are experiencing strong growth and actively expanding.

  • Excellent opportunity for an Engineer to step into management and make the role your own.

  • Lots of scope to implement change and make an impact. You will have strong support from wider stakeholders to succeed.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager / Supervisor or a Maintenance Engineer looking to develop within a forward thinking manufacturer?

We are working with a highly reputable, established manufacturer who are experiencing strong growth. In order to help continue this upward trend, they are looking to improve their internal maintenance function. The position will see you manage a team of 2 Engineers and oversee the planning / scheduling of maintenance related activities. The company are fairly reactive at the moment but they are keen to bring in more structure and PPM into the business. You will have strong support from the wider Operations Manager and HSE Manager to implement new ideas. This is still a hands on position with a bias towards mechanical maintenance so we do need someone who is flexible and happy to wear a number of hats.

Salary & Hours: £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience as a guide. Working hours typically 8:30am to 5:00pm Mon – Fri.

This Maintenance Manager job will suit:

  • Proven experience within Maintenance Engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.

  • Could suit a proven Maintenance Manager or Supervisor. Alternatively, as it’s a small team of 2, we could look at an experience Maintenance Engineer who is looking to take a step into management.

  • Someone who is still happy to remain hands on whilst overseeing the planning / scheduling function. This is still a varied maintenance role which will naturally grow over time.

  • The machinery used does vary, some are fairly automated with PLC’s, others are old and incorporate pneumatics and hydraulics. A degree of initiative and an inquisitive mindset is therefore needed to adapt.

The Maintenance Manager job’s working environment, opportunities and rewards:

  • Fantastic modern facilities, and continued investment across the business.

  • Excellent working culture, we are seeking someone who wants to take their own initiative to support the business and spot opportunities. This is very much a role you can make your own.

  • Stable and secure business currently undergoing strong growth, implementing new processes and systems.

  • The role will develop over time, this is truly a rare and excellent opportunity for the right individual.

The Maintenance Manager job will involve:

  • Plan and control the workload of a maintenance technician team to meet the maintenance requirements, liaising closely with operational management teams to ensure plant is available to complete necessary PPM and repairs and ensuring timescales are clearly communicated.

  • Drive improvements in workplace organisation, plant, machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain an effective balance between delegated work and personal technical contribution.

  • Allocate tasks to team members on a day-to-day basis ensuring works are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Maintaining effective records to ensure compliance with the company’s SHEQ (Safety Health Environmental and Quality) standards.

  • Carry out regular planned and preventative maintenance and schedule work to ensure checks, inspections and records are accurate and up to date.
