Technical Parts Coordinator. Banbury. Oxfordshire / Northamptonshire. £30,000 to £35,000
Technical Coordinator, Parts Coordinator, Spare Parts coordinator or similar. Highly suited to someone with a technical / engineering background that has moved into a more office based role.
You could have been a parts coordinator for a Vehicle dealership, within the automotive aftermarket or within other related manufacturing / engineering businesses.
You will be handling customer queries, in particular providing part identification and servicing information by referencing catalogues, part specifications, technical publications, drawings, and fitting instructions.
Based near to Banbury – this will be a full time on site position.
£30,000 to £35,000

The job involves checking that spare parts delivered are technically correct, identifying obsolescent parts and finding new suppliers for spare parts. Ideal skills include working with spares for agricultural equipment, construction equipment, cranes and off-road vehicles, and finding cost effective non-OEM spare parts. In this role you will deal with repair mechanics, engineering parts suppliers and work with technical drawings and manuals.
This role will involve:
Identifying product from technical publications and drawings.
Liaising with OEM’s and parts suppliers to identify common commercial service parts for plant and construction equipment such as concrete mixers, JCB equipment, mobile cranes and agricultural machinery, off road vehicles.
Stock rationalization, identifying obsolescent spare parts, identification of duplicated common parts coming from several sources.
Dealing with customers (mechanics and engineers) to provide assistance in resolving spares queries.
Assist the purchasing team in finding alternative, more cost effective sources of parts, including possible repair options, to help improve parts availability.
This role will suit:
A relevant background could include dealerships, mechanical equipment, spare parts desk, for construction vehicles, heavy plant equipment, fleet maintenance, concrete mixers, JCB equipment, mobile cranes, agricultural machinery, off road vehicles, cherry pickers, scissor lifts, etc
Experience of plant and construction equipment spare parts, aftermarket or hands on mechanic / fitter could be the right background.
Previous experience of the MoD is desirable.
This position is commutable from Banbury and surrounding areas of Oxford, Bicester, Daventry, Brackley and Milton Keynes.
