We are looking for a Technical Author / Digital Designer / Technical Publications Designer / CAD Designer that is looking to really make their mark within a brand-new role within a dynamic engineering SME.

​

You will have a creative mind and be able to demonstrate experience of using the Adobe suite of tools, some 3D CAD experience, and the ability to produce both hard copy and digital technical publications.

​

Your background as a Technical Author:

​

• You will have experience of working within a Technical Author or Digital Designer or Technical Publications Designer a similar publications design / technical documentation design / CAD design focussed position.

• You will have good experience of using Adobe Suite.

• Some experience of using 3D CAD would be advantageous.

• We are looking for a candidate that enjoy working within an engineering business – understand how the products are designed and manufactured to enable you to optimise the technical documentation / web-based documentation you will create and produce.

Technical Author Responsibilities:

​

• Producing and controlling a diverse range of product technical documents including operator manuals, build instructions, technical bulletins, and spare part listings using Adobe and 3D CAD software tools.

• This is an opportunity for somebody to use their creative skills to develop hard-copy and web-based documentation – the business is always looking at ways to innovate.

• Generate technical documents for brand new and current specialist machines.

• Produce technical bulletins for modifications on existing products.

• Working closely with the production team to product build instructions.

• You will have the opportunity to generate CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
