Are you an entrepreneurial, driven, technology / engineering focused Business development manager? Are you seeking a role that focuses on strategic business development, targeting £2m + accounts? Are you an ambitious Business Development Manager who wants a path to become head of business development? - This is strategic Business Development. Quite low volume, you will be targeting new key accounts
- These accounts will be £2m approx. + in value
- They are across very diverse sectors (energy, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, new car charge technology, wind power, process industries etc.)
- It’s very consultative – you are often selling service as well as a product
- You will be strategic in nature – mapping out sectors, target organisations and then taking a robust approach to secure business with the target accounts
- It’s quite multi-faceted. As soon as you have your foot in the door it’s managing that account, and growing it. There is some Key Account management work here but it starts with BD
- This is ultimately mechanical components & systems – we don’t need a full blown engineer BUT we do need someone who can sell engineering solutions
- Work for a really professional and proactive company – they have a matrix that helps define what a key account looks like (they take quite a structured approach to sales and business development)
- They have lots in the development pipeline (there has been a lot of investment in their R&D and test lab) so you will have innovative new products to take to market
What we are looking for
- Someone who is loyal, this is a long term career opportunity and the business value people who are loyal and take pride in their work.
- Work from home flexibility but ideally within 1 hour 30 mins of Grantham (so that you can still be in the business and engage)
- Experience of BD and Account management within engineering solution sales
- If you are ambitious this role could well progress to be Head of BD (that’s the plan) with a handful of reports (so excellent professional development)

This Business Development Manager role is based in the East Midlands but we are flexible on your location. Ideally Midlands based commutable from Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Peterborough, Lincoln, Derby, Loughborough East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire
