• This is a newly created role
• It’s a mix of service work but also then organising projects – this is NOT just a service engineer job it’s a chance to improve projects across an expanding business
• So you will either be a Senior Service engineer wanting to manage and improve projects, a Service manager or someone wanting to make that step with their career
• There is a strong “kit delivered to site” element to this job (i.e. it’s not really project management of design/production – it’s more skewed to customer and the capital equipment commission process)
• Ultimately their product / solution isn’t overly complex but it’s that schedule, Gantt chart, plan organise commissioning and make sure H&S, risk assessments, customer is updated etc.
• You will manage 4 or 5 projects at a time
• Once the kit has been commissioned / complete you will then also be a point of contact to help manage any service work etc
• You will have a mix of work from home & Travel to offices/customer sites. Not massive amounts of travel but you will need to be open to travel

What we need / your background

• Midlands based – able to get to Stafford / Newark fairly easily (so Derby, Nottingham, Uttoxeter or similar)
• Happy to do  some service work BUT wanting to progress and lead / organise
• Project management mind-set and structure (used to dealing with Gantt charts or similar) – someone who can structure projects in a common sense but good documented way (so it’s not a role that demands a very heavy Prince 2 methodology – just a well organised common sense approach)
• Key is excellent organisation + communication skills.
• Technical wise – no big requirements – ideally been involved with mechanical engineering, on site equipment, cranes, refrigeration plant or similar BUT we are very flexible on this front
• Organised and pro-active – you don’t need to have ‘projects experience’ or “project manager” on your CV BUT you will have good project management skills (organised, structured, detail focused).
