• Senior Design Engineer : Electromechanical design £48,000 to £53,000.

• Hybrid working, 2 days in Northampton HQ and 3 days work from home.

Are you an engineer with experience of electromechanical products or mechanical products that interface with electrical or electronics or software looking to combine hands on design and supporting, coaching, mentoring a small group of Engineers.

The company are global leaders in the development and manufacture of specialist equipment used within automotive, process, environmental, scientific and other advanced technology sectors.   

This Senior Design Engineer job will involve:

• The role will involve everything from research, creating concepts and prototypes to testing, making adaptions and driving your product development projects forward.

• You will also supervise, coach, mentor and support x3 Engineers within the R&D team (this is roughly only 20% of your time). This is x2 Mechanical Engineers and x1 Electrical Engineer.

• Perform and guide CAD design, calculations, product and software tests, track projects, create specifications, BOMs.

• Offer technical expertise during design reviews and problem-solving activities.

• Support and champion continuous improvement activities and best practice processes and methods within the R&D team.

Your background:

• A Senior Mechanical Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer, Principal Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Design Team Leader, Lead Engineer who wants to combine hands on design / product development, leading projects and coaching, mentoring, supporting other Engineers.

• Ideally experience of electromechanical products or mechanical design that interfaces with electrical, electronics or software.

• Experience of using 3D CAD design software, SolidWorks, Creo, Pro/Engineer would be advantageous.

• You are likely to hold a relevant qualification in mechanical, electrical, electronic, product design or similar engineering discipline.
