Sales Engineer

  • The ideal candidate with have proven experience building customers relationships and improving sales within an engineering / manufacturing environment. Specific knowledge of acoustics solutions / sound engineering would be an advantage, but specific product training will be provided.

  • The role does require some basic design engineering knowledge as you will liaise with the design department to help support with quotations.

  • Excellent starting salary (£40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience) + wider benefits.

  • Hybrid working is a possibility if preferred.

  • Opportunity to develop and grow within a SME. Longer term prospects are available.

Are you a Sales Engineer or technical professional that has comes from a technical engineering background? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a sales role which will utilise your engineering knowledge. The company manufacture acoustic solutions for some leading manufacturers within the engineering world.

This Sales Engineer job will suit:

  • A strong communicator with the confidence to engage and talk to different people within organisations. Customers vary in size / scale.

  • Someone who is enthusiastic, inquisitive, tenacious and has positive attitude.

  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic. Happy to manage your own diary and enjoy visiting customers.

  • Experience within the acoustics sector would be a strong advantage.

  • Technical mindset in general. You will work closely with the design teams so an appreciation for basic CAD work / drawings is needed.

The Sales Engineer responsibilities: 

  • Identify and open relationships with new customers.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities in which to grow the accounts.

  • Manage customer expectations on a range of projects.

  • Support with quotations.

  • Once trained, travel to customer sites will be required on occasions to survey the site and identify whether it may impact the proposed design.

  • Keep an eye out for the opportunity to upsell customers or for additional sales opportunities
