·The role will be hands on purchasing and procurement, and well as managing the supply chain and logistics through the stores and logistics team to manage on time delivery inbound and outbound, stores and stock control.

·The job involves managing the relationships with suppliers and purchasing procurement of mechanical, technical, electronic components, production materials and some indirect spend. in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

·The Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager will manage suppliers in terms of pricing, negotiation and supplier relationships including performance reviews, getting feedback and increasing the inter-working relationship with supplier.

·Also responsible for day to day delivery of parts and supplies, plus the strategic development of specialist mechanical engineering suppliers, agreeing suppler contracts and supplier development.

·Improvement projects will include; minimising inventory, maximize on time delivery, and work with planning and quality to continually improve process and efficiency, plus the coaching and development of the team.

·There will be objectives to drive cost controls and in tandem with manufacturing KPI’s around quality, on time delivery, as well as costs.  Building honest relationships in-keeping with a supplier-partnership objective.

This Purchase and Supply Chain Manager job will suit:

·A person with experience in hands on Purchasing or Procurement, and some team leadership skills to cover the stores, despatch and materials flow around the engineering and manufacturing factory.

·Ideally you will have experience of supplier management in a manufacturing, industrial, production or engineering business.

·A person with the drive to work with suppliers in partnership, helping both parties to work accurately, efficiently and cost effectively.  

·Experience of MRP / ERP systems and also with Excel spreadsheets will be needed.
