Project Engineer at a small friendly manufacturing engineering
production business. The Project Engineer looks after projects after the design phase; this includes project managing mechanical engineering projects to ensure it gets manufactured in the factory, coordinating project timing plans and dates with customers,and preparing everything needed be the fitters and installation manager(i.e.,colleagues in the installation team).There will be one or two site visits per project to measure up, fine tune the design,and assess the site for access, but the Project Engineer / Contracts Manager
is mainly office based.


•The product includes sheetmetal work,fans and blowers.
•The Project Engineer / Contracts Manager will be supported with design and CAD work by the design engineer team.
•The Project Engineer / Contracts Manager job is mostly office based and prepares everything for handover to colleagues in the Installation on site team. This includes final measure-up on site,checking dates and plans with customers, ensuring all components, parts and assemblies are ready to be sent to the customers site on time in full.
•This job is more about having experience of preparing everything in advance, so the Installation team can arrive with everything required to complete the job on time, withing budget.

The Project Engineer job needs a person:
•That can understand CAD drawings, but you don’t need to be able to design systems or use CAD to
produce designs.
•That can work safely at site prior to installation to measure up,assess access issues and use their
experience to identify and sort-out potential snags or issues in advance.
•Who can communicate with customers to check and double checks plans, agree the installation plan andkeep the project on budget and within scope(which sometimes needs differentcommunication skills depending on the type of customer).
•With experience of sheet metal work or mechanical systems used in industrial/factory processes.
•With experience of keeping a project on track, on time, and on budget, and experience of flagging up snags and issues as early as possible to colleagues so everyone can contribute to problem solving.

£37,000-£40,000+ pension. Daytime Mon-Fri. Lots of support to get you up to speed. Small friendly,
experienced team with very little staff turnover.
