​Production Engineer

We are currently looking to recruit a Production Engineer who has is capable of streamlining manufacturing methods and improving efficiency. The company manufacture a range of products made from wood and plastics, spanning several sectors – so lots of variety! The company have invested heavily into more automated methods within the office and are looking to bring this ethos into the production process. The aim is to lower machines required for production and cut the manufacturing time down, increasing capacity and saving costs at the same time.   

This Production Engineer job will suit:

• Ideally come from a wood machining / precision engineering background due to the machinery used for production e.g CNC Routers, Saws etc.

• Have proven experience implementing new processes to improve efficiency / lean manufacturing techniques. NPI experience would be an advantage.

• Someone who will enjoy the challenge of evolving the position. You will receive backing and investment to make changes.

• A good communicator, this is a stand alone position but involves working alongside the Production Manager, supporting Operatives with documentation etc.

The Production Engineer job will involve:

• Streamlining existing production methods to improve the manufacturing process.

• Working with CADCAM (Solidworks) to create machinery programs.

• Create SOP’s for the production team.

• Work closely with the Production Manager to identify new opportunities / discuss challenges.

• Help provide quotes and prioritise projects accordingly.
