Purchasing Manager with an engineering and manufacturing business who supply equipment to global customers in energy, electrical, oil & gas, power generators and other industrial sectors.  The Purchasing Manager will purchasing, procurement and buying of steel, engineering materials and components, manage the procurement supply chain from global suppliers, and review the purchasing system for potential improvements.

As Purchasing Manager you will play a pivotal role within the business; working alongside manager from sales and engineering to ensure purchasing and supply chain plays its part in meeting deadlines and budget objectives.  There are two reportees (both at buyer / expeditor level).

This Purchasing Manager job will suit a buyer or procurement expert:

·Knowledge of engineering materials, ideally steel.

·Experienced negotiator and able to establish SLA’s which look at the wider picture of quality, delivery and price.

·Strong communicator – relationship builder

·Able to work with technical colleagues to ensure engineering specifications are met within the purchasing and buying criteria.

·Able to work with sales colleagues to contribute to pricing, estimates, tenders and delivery timelines.

·CIPS qualified – desirable

The Purchasing Manager job will involve:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with all suppliers
• Source and order all raw materials

·Review the companies antiquated purchasing system with a view to implement a more efficient and up to date system

• Research new materials and suppliers
• Stay informed of developments and market activity on a global level
• Negotiating pricing and payment terms

This job is commutable from Loughborough, Shepshed, Coalville, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and surrounding areas.
