Process Engineer

  • Varied engineering role that will see you responsible for improving manufacturing processes.

  • Would suit an experienced Process Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer who has worked within precision engineering.

We are working with a well established Engineering Group to recruit an experienced Process Engineer into the team. As a Process Engineer, you will work alongside the wider manufacturing team to help drive continuous improvement practices. This is a days based role – no shift work involved. There is a small amount of management duties, ensuring the Process Technicians have support where needed to carry out necessary duties.

Salary: £33,000 to £40,000 per annum depending on experience. 37 hour week. 5% pension. Healthcare, life insurance.

Hours: Day Shift Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00, Friday 07:30 to 12:30

The Process Engineer job will involve:

  • Accountable for continuous improvements within the business; identifying existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimise risks, costs, and wastage. The goal is to improve the overall quality and consistency of the final product.

  • Provide leadership, technical direction and management to the assembly, clean area and bench process technicians.

  • Writing standard operational procedures (SOP’s), ensuring they are clear and in place for equipment & processes.

  • Promote the use and function of methods to drive process improvements such as Root, Cause, Corrective Action (RCCA) and 5 Why’s.

  • Support the production team to minimise downtime by reacting to any given issue.

  • Lead process simulation, using software such as Solidworks and Abaqus to aid with new product introduction and improve existing parts.

This Process Engineer job will suit:

  • Experience within technical / precision manufacturing in a process engineering role.

  • Able to manage complex data and have experience in applying statistical analysis techniques.

  • Excellent critical reasoning skills and experience using problem solving techniques.

  • Good interpersonal skills, with experience of team management to motivate and lead by example.
