Multi skilled pipeline technician

 

  • Multi skilled pipeline technician, Utility Pipe Technician, utilities pipeline layer or mains layer or utility pipeline maintenance engineer (maintenance of water pipes, gas pipes ; mains laying)
  • The job is 70% hands on doing pipe refurbishment projects, pressure drilling, pipe lining, slip lining, butt welding, pipeline work, pressure testing, connecting live gas connections). 30% will be looking at CDM, H&S / risk assessments etc.
  • NRSWA, SHEA gas, SHEA water & EUSR Utility would be beneficial but we are keen to speak to any candidates who have experience with any type of utility pipe maintenance (gas pipes, water pipes, infrastructure pipes)

 

There is the requirement to use pressure drilling equipment e.g.  TD Williamson Short Stop II, Peart, ALH, Transmate.

 

Any exposure to the following qualifications/areas wold be very beneficial ;

 

  • SHEA Gas, SHEA water, NCO Main layer, Gas mains service layer,
  • Under pressure branch connections, NRSWA, IGEM, Utility operations Gas distribution, Water distribution
  • Pressure drilling equipment

 

Experience with connecting new mains to existing systems (live gas connections), understanding pipe distribution systems (gas and water pipes). Mains layer experience very useful

Info on the Multi skilled pipeline technician jobs role

 

  • There is plenty of travel in this role, we want/need someone who is happy with travelling across the UK and spending some nights way from home
  • It’s utilities sector and very much working on pipelines (pipe lining, pipe coating and refurb work on gas pipes and water pipes)
  • We are very happy to train certain things (e.g. welding) but you will ideally have some utilities / pipe experience

About you / Your background

 

  • Flexible and happy to travel across the UK
  • Some experience of utility pipelines – gas or water would be great
  • Any experience with dumpers, excavators would be useful but not essential
  • We are very happy to train certain things (e.g. welding) but you will ideally have some utilities / pipe experience
  • Clean driving licence (or certainly less than 6 points)
  • There is the requirement to use pressure drilling equipment e.g.  TD Williamson Short Stop II, Peart, ALH, Transmate.
  • Any exposure to the following qualifications/areas wold be very beneficial ; SHEA Gas, SHEA water, NCO Main layer, Gas mains service layer, Under pressure branch connections, NRSWA, IGEM, Utility operations Gas distribution, Water distribution, winch operations.
