Mechanical Engineer

• Consultant based position working within an engineering business who are at the heart of R&D projects. 
• Lots of variety on projects, an all round mechanical engineering role that has elements of design, quality, testing and more.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys variety and solving engineering challenges? This is very much a practical based engineering role, working with CMM’s, CAD packages, visiting customer sites. This is a consultancy environment so you will work with several customers.  The aim of the job is to help offer engineering solutions on mechanical based components.   

Mechanical Consultant Engineer Salary & Package: 

• £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience. Could look at a Graduate with brief practical experience.
• 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays with scope to purchase additional days.
• 8% employer pension. 
• Healthcare and life insurance policies. 

This Mechanical Engineer job will suit:

• A Mechanical Engineer who is practically minded with good communication skills.
• Hold a relevant engineering qualification. Any Aerospace experience would be useful due to the nature of the products sharing similar quality standards.
• Hands on in nature, good problem solver, comfortable communicating results to various points of contact. 
• Metallurgical laboratory experience, knowledge / experience of root cause analysis.
• Flexible approach in nature, enjoy problem solving to solve engineering challenges.

  The Consulting Engineer job will involve:

• Forensic examination of components, materials testing, rig design and commissioning.
• Produce written reports and be able to formally present project findings.
• Use hand tools to investigate component assemblies. CMM’s for inspection etc.
• Understanding of CAD or FEA would be useful.
