Mechanical Design Engineer job vacancy, producing AutoCAD drawings for mechanical process equipment including pipework and storage vessels.  The Mechanical Design Engineer will also advise colleagues and suppliers in other teams like commissioning and maintenance teams.

The Mechanical Engineer role involves:

• Developing design concepts for mechanical process equipment and piping systems.

• Applying industry standards for mechanical systems and equipment design.

• Providing mechanical engineering support for project teams and engineering colleagues in process equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and electrical subcontract suppliers.

• Assisting with process plant equipment performance testing, commissioning, start-up, and operations manual preparation.

Skills and Experience

• A BSc/MSc degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

• Experience in industrial production process equipment design, maintenance, and repair.

• Experience of project engineering or project management.

• Good AutoCAD skills.

• A positive attitude, striving to deliver mechanical integrity and process optimisation.

• Communication skills appropriate to being part of an engineering team in a large, professional business operating in chemical, biotech and scientific research in partnership with other companies.
