• Multi-site : you will be Group Managing Director for facilities near York, Leeds, Harrogate
• As an MD / Managing Director you will ideally have experience of full P&L responsibility of fast paced engineering or  industrial distribution SMEs (or manufacturing businesses with a strong product sales focus)
• Group Managing Director role heading up P&L across 4 SMEs / business units
• £110,000 - £120,000 + 40% bonus + car + medical etc.

Managing Director jobs role / MD jobs role with a £25m - £35m t/o expanding SME. The company supply & distribute a high number of engineering components / distributor of industrial products into a variety of sectors (with a focus on rail, petrochemical, process industries, automotive, aerospace). This is high volume, high number of parts distribution so you will be passionate about driving improvements to sales, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, marketing and customer service (as opposed to technical innovation / engineering innovation)

As Group Managing Director you will A) make organisational improvements across 4 separate SMEs,  integrating processes (ERP) and organising the structure for optimum performance B) managing the different sub-cultures across the businesses C) driving growth across the businesses, having full P&L responsibility

This Managing Director jobs role will suit:

• An MD / Managing Director who has a strong SME track record (growing £10m to £40m t/o sort of size businesses who are sales focused engineering / manufacturing / distribution businesses)
• We are very flexible with regards to your sector experience (we just need that Managing Director experience in engineering SMEs or distribution focused businesses)
• The company value loyalty so you will ideally have demonstrated length of tenure (with stints of 5+ years in your last 3 Managing Director appointments or similar : this is NOT a turnaround Managing Director jobs role)
• The purpose of the business is to sell products, so you will likely have some senior sales experience and strong commercial acumen
• Finally you need that strong P&L experience, a good handle on finance, balance sheets, consolidated accounts and structured reporting.
