Legal and Compliance Officer

Potters Bar, Hertfordshire

Compliance Officer covering business regulatory requirements relating to a manufacturing business involving advising colleagues on internal compliance policies and supporting colleagues on matters of export regulations, business trade compliance, due diligence on trade partners and the supply chain including UK Bribery Act.

The Compliance officer job will include:

·Supporting senior managers on issues of adherence to internal policies and compliance with business regulations relating to UK and overseas trade including export regulations.

·Developing your knowledge base to be seen as a subject matter expert on internal compliance policies and procedures.

·Conducting due diligence checks on suppliers and trade partners to identify compliance clearance issues and compliance risk assessments.

·Completing due diligence requests from customers.

·Contribute to the creation of policies and processes that ensure legal compliance relating to business trade including import export compliance, GDPR, UK Bribery Act, Unfair Competition Act, General Data Protection Act.

This role is suited to a person with:

·An eye for detail and excellent English language skills in written and verbal communication.

·A background in areas like legal compliance, ethical and good practice for UK companies, business conduct standards, business compliance or similar risk assessment relating to business trade compliance and due diligence.

·It is likely the job holder will have a degree qualification in a subject relating to business, legal or commercial business qualifications relating to trade, export, supplier vetting and trade partner due diligence.

The employer will consider some work from home arrangements.

This job is commutable from Barnet, Edgware, Watford, St Albans, Hatfield, East Barnet, Enfield and the surrounding areas.
