We are looking for a Lead Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Principal Design Engineer that is passionate and excited about being able to really make your mark on the design and development of a diverse range of products within a dynamic, rapidly growing, engineering SME.

​

Your background as a Lead Design Engineer:

• A degree educated Engineer, with a mechanical design or electromechanical design background that is ambitious and wants to make an impact in a Lead Engineer / Technical Lead position?

• An ability to to lead and influence the design and development of products.

• 3D mechanical design experience including creating assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings. Any SolidWorks CAD experience would be advantageous.

• Prototyping of designs and working with suppliers to production release.

• Familiarity with products that involve small / intricate electro-mechanical components would be advantageous.

• You are likely to be degree qualified in a mechanical engineering or similar engineering or science-based discipline.

Lead Design Engineer Responsibilities:

​

• Take complete technical ownership of two key product lines, creating innovative design solutions for new customer applications.

• Producing 3D models and associated manufacturing drawings.

• Management of design modifications or changes and product BOMs.

• Working with component suppliers in collaboration with procurement and quality engineering colleagues.

• Providing customers with product technical support.

• Supporting manufacturing with technical issues and strategic continuous improvement initiatives.
