IT Support Engineer (1st Line) – MSP Environment
Join a fast-moving Managed Service Provider delivering hands-on IT support to a wide range of clients across London and beyond. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied support environment, enjoys solving problems, and is keen to build a long-term career in IT.
As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day IT issues — whether that’s resolving software glitches, onboarding new users, or escalating more complex challenges to the senior team. You’ll work across both Mac and Windows environments and gain exposure to a variety of businesses, technologies, and tools.
What you’ll be doing:
Acting as the first point of contact for clients needing technical support (in person, via email, and phone)
Troubleshooting a range of issues across hardware, software, networks, and cloud tools
Managing user accounts and permissions via Active Directory and Microsoft 365
Installing, configuring, and patching common business applications
Accurately documenting support tickets and resolutions in the helpdesk system
Spending one day per week on a key client site in London, and one day per month in Birmingham
Progressing toward Microsoft certifications with full support from the team
What you’ll bring:
Around 2 years’ experience in a 1st Line IT support role, ideally within an MSP
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
Comfortable supporting both Windows and Mac environments
Great communication and customer service skills
A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to keep learning
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your technical skills within a collaborative MSP setting. You’ll gain exposure to a wide client base, work alongside experienced engineers, and be supported to upskill and progress.
