Field Service Engineer

Electrically biased field service position. Would suit an experienced Service, Commissioning, or Maintenance Engineer who enjoys travelling.
Mostly UK and Ireland travel with some occasional international work.
Specialist product training provided. Chance to work within a growing sector and part of a larger engineering group.

We are working with an established engineering manufacturer who are undergoing strong levels of growth.As FieldService Engineer, you will be home based in the UK & Ireland and maintain and commission the client’s special purpose equipment in the field. The ideal profile is for someone to be Electrically qualified and have good mechanical knowledge, combined with a willingness to get their sleeves rolled up.

The role will involve significant throughout the UK & Ireland (and possibly some occasional international work). Large jobs may be 2-3 weeks in duration and regular service trips are likely to be around 2-3 days in duration. Some weekend working will be required; as a very rough estimate, maybe one weekend every five (x1.5 overtime on Saturdays, x2 overtime on Sundays). Call-outs at short notice also feature and the Field Service Engineer must be willing to travel at short notice. When not working onsite you’ll be at home, on-call

Salary Guideline: £40,000 per annum + car or car allowance + OT. Likely OTE c£55,000 to £60,000 per annum. Paid door to door.

The Field Service Engineer job will involve:

Field Service Engineer capable of carrying out service, maintenance and breakdown repairs on specialist machinery and equipment.
Working on the installation and commissioning of existing and new machinery/equipment.
Advise customers on the maintenance of equipment and associated parts.

This Field Service Engineer job will suit:

Ability to read and understand process and instrumentation diagrams
Mechanically competent – able to carry out maintenance work on mechanical components and assemblies (fitter support will be provided for major works) - essential
Good electrical knowledge – motors, low voltage instrumentation, loop controls, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
PLC knowledge (ABB and Siemens) would be useful (to fault finding/bug fixing level)
Electrically qualified to at least ONC, ideally HNC level

This job is commutable from Warrington, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, North West and the surrounding areas.
