Field Application Engineer – Automation/Software supporting the existing and growing customer base at a technical level, helping solve customer issues both remotely and onsite for a business involved in advanced technology solutions for the robotic vehicle market. As a Field Application Engineer – Automation/Software you will receive good training, development & have a passion and enthusiasm to learn! 

£30,000 + 27 days plus all bank holidays and 8% employer pension contribution and private healthcare!

This Field Application Engineer – Automation/Software job will suit:

• An electrical / electronic or software or mechanical background
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Logical and thorough diagnostic skills
• Excellent face-to-face customer repertoire in challenging situations
• Self-organisation for planning work and travel
• Ideally some experience of using technical skills at a hardware, mechanical and software interface level (integration of automation equipment)
• Willingness/ability to travel at short notice, sometimes globally
• Interpretation of engineering drawings / schematics

• Offering technical support at system level

• Becoming an expert in the product portfolio and how best to apply it to meet customer’s needs
• Assisting with new site installations and commissioning activities
• Performing demonstrations to customers
• Performing software and hardware diagnostics & tests for customers and engineers
• Reporting issues back to engineers and working with the team to improve the products for the future
