Hands on Facilities Manager in a manufacturing engineering factory.  This role takes charge of hard and soft services from cleaning and security, to property and grounds.

Review, select and manage third party suppliers of cleaning, security, grounds and property services providers.

Manage budgets for regular facilities management overheads and management budgets and scope for one-off and periodic facilities management projects.

Oversee the selection, induction and compliance of third party suppliers on site including Permit to Work, adherence to H&S, and completion of work to agreed standard.

Be first port of call for unexpected incidents relating to property, grounds and facilities caused by weather, accident or damage, and being able to establish safe perimeter and identify internal or external support to make-right.

Manage the provision of utilities to the factory, and manage costs and budgets for energy use.

Optimise the use of the site by leading or supporting lay-pout changes from car park to factory to office/desk layouts.

Supervising cleaners and security staff, ensuring coverage and ensuring full delivery of services like waste disposal delivers full value for money.

This Facilities Manager role is involved with a wide range of activities and the job holder will have scope to make a positive impact on the business and the people working within the facility. 

This Facilities Manager role is hands on, with responsibility for one cleaner (staff) and the onsite staff provided by the contract cleaner and security suppliers.  The role works shoulder to shoulder with the H&S Manager and the Operations Manager (the latter has a engineering maintenance crew as part of their team).

Skills and Experience

•Facilities Management, Engineering or Manufacturing related experience and qualifications.

•Experience of Facilities Management relevant to a professional engineering and manufacturing facility.

•Experience of managing a small team and supervising third party suppliers on site.

•A working knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety.
