This Engineering Manager job will suit:

• An Engineering Manager / Design Manager / Design Team Leader with a strong engineering design background – a mechanical design background is preferred.
• We are seeking candidates that have had experience of managing and leading a team / department of Design Engineers / Development Engineers. This is a small team – 7 headcount.
• Your personal qualities will strike a balance between being innovative - to generate ideas and find solutions to engineering problems and analytical – control product changes and design / manufacturing costs.
• You will be an articulate and effective communicator to enable you to lead and develop your team and build strong working relationships across the business. 

The job’s working environment, opportunities and rewards:  

• Multi-national engineering / manufacturing organisation, design and manufacturing facilities in Europe, USA and Asia.
• This is a newly created role within a growing manufacturing organisation that is passionate about product development.
• Salary Guideline: Circa £50,000 commensurate with experience.  

The Design Manager job will involve:

• Leadership and management of the engineering / product development function within the business.
• Work with the commercial team to take customer product requirements and turn them into cost effective engineering solutions that are delivered on time, to quality and on budget.
• Manage the product design and release process; design changes; product compliance requirements and drive cost out of the process without comprising on product performance and quality.
• Develop and grow the Engineers within the team.
