Engineering Project Management in a manufacturing production engineering business. Engineering projects include large investments like installing new production lines as well as small works to replace equipment or upgrade facilities. This is a growing business, with increasing demand for their product, and a road map to invest (>£5m) to grow manufacturing capacity. This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Manager, or Project Engineering person interested in promotion prospects during the next few years.

£75,000-80,000 guideline + benefits including pension, car/allowance and healthcare.

Key Objectives

•Managing and co-ordinating external engineering suppliers and contractors.Most of the projects will be delivered, installed and commissioned by suppliers / contractors.

•Working as a member of the company’s management team, communicating project plans across the business and optimising “business as usual” output to ensure Operations (Production, Maintenance and Transport) have minimal disruption during projects in order to meet customer demand.

•To establish project plans for small, medium and large projects, ensuring that suppliers and colleagues are consulted, knock-on effects are identified and best-solutions are knitted into the project plan. Projects range from re-surfacing the yard, to major equipment upgrades. Knock on effects for the smallest of projects will have impact on Production. Maintenance and Transport. Frequent two-way communication with colleagues is essential.

•To manage and influence suppliers and contractors, working with them to agree project plans which minimise disruption to manufacturing and deliveries.

•Project planning and project management including on site logistics, ancillary equipment, timescales, and also documentation relating to CDM, Permit to Work and Risk Assessments, etc.
