Quality Engineering Manager New Product Introduction NPI job vacancy. PPAP, APQP, DFMEA. This is a management role responsible for leadership of the Quality Engineer function in an advanced engineering business. The Role

Deliverables of the quality engineering team cover: quality process for new product development, quality control for manufacturing, and response to customers regarding quality engineering queries.

·Manage a small team of Quality Engineers and SQE.

·Support New Product Introduction with process control, validation, APQP etc to reduce launch failures and manufacturing non conformance NCRs.

·Supporting customers by meeting their objectives. This can be as varied as knowledge sharing, process documentation, validation process management, NCR response and corrective actions, and managing the relationship with customers on quality related issues.

The Person

You will bring the ability to lead a team, and the ability to manage the Quality Engineering function in terms of quality process, and the wider vision of meeting company wide commercial objectives, customer satisfaction and timeline goals. Experience required is a balance of technical and interpersonal skills:

·Manage and develop the Quality Engineers

·Career experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering or similar. We are open minded. Experience with NCRs, Corrective Actions, Control Plans, and tools like APQP, PPAP or similar

·Influencing skills and commercial understanding which enable successful interaction with colleagues and customers in the pursuit of timeline, quality, financial and customer goals.

Bigger Picture Goals and Challenges

·Improve new product introduction processes to reduce NCRs whilst balancing the need to hit customer milestones and commercial goals.

·Influencing diverse groups of colleagues in manufacturing, scientific and commercial teams to improve the success ratio of commercial, timeline and quality control objectives.

·Manage and develop the Quality Engineering team to improve soft skills and technical ability.
