Are you a Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer? Are you commutable to Salisbury and are seeking senior Firmware Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer jobs? Work from home flexibility so anywhere up to 40 miles from Salisbury.

The business is R&D focused – they spend almost a third of their turnover back into R&D. They supply complex electromechanical equipment and innovative software solutions into the medical and pharmaceutical sector. Whilst they are a friendly, innovative and agile SME, they supply into some of the worlds leading global medical / pharmaceutical blue chips.

Notes on the Firmware Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer jobs role and what we ideally need

• Experience of both digital and analogue electronics.
• Experience with C++, C
• Any experience with Arm Cortex processors (32 bit) would be great
• Pic’s ;  16-bit, (PIC experience is only relevant to a legacy product and may not be needed).
• Chip to chip comms, USB experience – Serial interfaces, SPI and I2C, serial protocols, general purpose input/output (GPIO’s), linking to sensors, driving stepper motors (again any overlap would be great)
• Experience of using debuggers to debug hardware problems
• Skilled in the use of hardware test equipment, oscilloscope, logic analyser, DVM etc.
• In a perfect world we would find and engineer who can do above but also carry out circuit design and PCB layout, although that may be difficult.
• We are looking for someone who has experience of working on both hardware and software: ideally someone who started as an electronic hardware engineer
