Health & Safety Officer Walsall £35,000 + pension

Hands on Health and Safety Officer in manufacturing and warehouse facility. 

  • The H&S Officer will be given support by the site management team to improve the Health and Safety culture, bringing in H&S best practice and developing the Health and Safety skills of team leaders, supervisors and managers across the warehouse and manufacturing factory.
  • H&S Auditor and IOSH would be great H&S skills for the Health and Safety Officer role.
  • £35,000 + pension

The Health and Safety Officer:

  • Reporting to a supportive and enabling management team.
  • Own and improve the Health and Safety culture and performance on the site, bringing in best practice.
  • Own & review internal systems and procedures relating to Health and Safety, identify improvement opportunities, appropriately prioritise in line with ISO14001 2015 & ISO 45001 2018.
  • Enhance Managers, front line supervisors and team leaders in Health and Safety compliance and risk identification, incident investigations, and all employees regarding hazard reporting.
  • Other skills and experience could include Health & Safety Risk Assessments, Accident Investigations, Report Writing and record keeping

Useful experience and skills might already include a lot of the following,.  Training support could be provided as part of your development in some of the more niche areas.

  • Lead Auditor Experience
  • NEBOSH qualification (ideally Technical Member)
  • Environmental IEMA – PIEMA – Advantageous.
  • Full Understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001:2015 is a requirement
  • Experience on LOLER / PUWER / DSEAR / COSHH / REACH is a requirement / is desirable.
  • Experience on a high hazard / COMAH site is desirable.
  • Experience in Process Safety Management is desirable
