​Design Engineer , Derby

We are currently looking to recruit a Design Engineer who is used to working closely with production for the design of equipment. The company manufacture composite components that supply into a diverse customer base. Knowledge of designing for CNC manufacturing would be particularly useful, but not essential.  

Salary & Package: £37,000 to £45,000 per annum basic. Early Friday finish. 25 days holiday + banks. Company pension scheme. Additional benefits / perk package – the company really value employee welfare.

This Design Engineer job will suit:

• Qualified to HND/degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering

• Experience in the mechanical design for manufacturing purposes. Specific jigs, moulds knowledge would be an advantage.

• Specific Catia CAD package experience is required for this position.

• An understanding of composite manufacturing experience would be a significant advantage for this position.

The Design Engineer job will involve:

• Using Catia software to design a range of moulds, jigs and fixtures used within manufacturing.

• Working closely with the manufacturing team to identify requirements and how production techniques may impact design.

• Compiling associated reports upon completion.

• Problem solving to find design solutions.
