Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Manager

Gateshead

£70,000 salary + pension and bonus

 

Manufacturing Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement in Production Manager Operations peer group at a factory.  Introducing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to manufacturing processes, production planning, materials flow, utilisation of manufacturing shop floor labour and shift patterns, line balancing.  Continuous Improvement success factors will include:

  • Developing and embedding improved manufacturing and production processes
  • Winning commitment and buy-in from Plant Manager to Production Operatives
  • Identifying quick wins and using pareto to identify value add manufacturing continuous improvement projects
  • Improving measurable KPI’s like safety, OEE, uptime, downtime, productivity and output, reduced manufacturing costs and reduced scrap and waste.
  • This role can also widen to include staff engagement, training and development, and CSR as part of the overall drive of the leadership team.

 

This role will suit a person that can identify, implement and embed improved manufacturing and production processes:

  • The ability to work with factory maintenance, quality engineers, production planners and manufacturing operations to identify opportunities to make improvements.
  • The ability to drive change and influence production managers and manufacturing operatives to embrace and embed changes.
  • The ability to be part of the leadership team, winning trust and evidencing the benefits of continuous improvement changes.
  • A background in manufacturing, production or process engineering, with a track record of identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, facilitating, driving change and embedding new methods.
  • Toolkits could include six sigma, PCDA, IshiKawa, VSM Value Stream Mapping, PokeYoke, CPK, Andon, Gemba walks, Kaizen and maintenance planning tools like TPM/PPM

 

This position is commutable from Gateshead, Sunderland, Tyneside, Chester-le-Street, Durham and surrounding areas.
