CNC Manual Machinist
Location:Croydon (on-site workshop)
Hours:36.5 hours per week
Salary:Up to £41,000 (for a 36.5hr week) + bonus
Benefits:25 days holiday + bank holidays, 9% pension, private health care, dental health care
About the Role
We’re hiring a CNC Manual Machinist to join our Croydon-based workshop team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance, repair and overhaul of mechanical equipment across rail, marine, power, and oil & gas sectors. As a CNC Manual Machinist, you’ll work on a wide variety of components — no production runs, just precision, problem-solving and technical variety.
Key Responsibilities
As a CNC Manual Machinist, your day-to-day will include:
·Operating and setting up manual machinery including lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding equipment
·Interpreting engineering drawings (metric and imperial) to guide machining and repairs
·Designing and producing basic tooling to support workshop teams
·Carrying out component balancing and assisting with job planning and scheduling

Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a CNC Manual Machinist with:
·Time-served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification
·Extensive experience with manual machining equipment
·Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial)
·Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
·Attention to detail and ability to self-verify work
·Good communication and teamwork skills
