We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager / Sales Manager / Commercial Manager that is excited by having the opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a cutting-edge technology developer within the UK defence sector. £5m t/o UK SME backed by £1billion group.

This Business Development Manager role would be home based with 1 day per week (on average) spent in the UK Midlands office with frequent travel to customer locations throughout the UK.

Your background as a Business Development Manager:

  • You must have previous experience of selling into the UK MOD / UK defence sector.

  • More specifically we are looking for a candidate with experience of military vehicles / land systems or autonomous systems e.g., UGVs, UAVs, robotic systems.

  • Knowledge of UK defence strategy, equipment plans, and procurement.

  • Be able to undertake frequent travel to customer locations throughout the UK with occasional international travel.

Your Responsibilities as the Business Development Manager:

  • Carry out business development activities to deliver the growth strategy via increased sales from the UK defence and security industry (military vehicles / land systems focus). Future opportunity to expand your territory outside the UK.

  • Finding and engaging with new clients in the UK defence and security industry to deliver business growth.

  • Manage key accounts and strategic customer relationships to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.

  • Planning, constructing, and executing winning responses to business opportunities.

  • Successful negotiation of contracts.

  • Working with the marketing team to plan and deliver focused strategic marketing campaigns.
