This Business Development Manager job will suit:

  • You will have a proven track record of securing new business / selling within the UK engineering / manufacturing sectors probably working in Sales Manager or Business Development Manager role.

  • Previous experience of noise control solutions / acoustic engineering or similar engineering products or applications would be advantageous but not essential.

  • The primary focus (80%) of the role will be on new business development with new customers or generating new sales with existing customers.

  • Only 20% of the role will be focused on managing existing customer accounts.

  • This is a standalone, end to end sales management position so you will need to focused and resourceful to work across the sales lifecycle.

  • You will hold a relevant qualification in an engineering, manufacturing or production discipline.

This Business Development Manager job will involve:

  • The business is currently 95% focused on selling into the off-highway vehicles / construction vehicles sector. This role is primarily (80%) focused on growing sales in other industry sectors (UK only territory initially).

  • You will also manage and grow existing customer accounts (20% of your time).

  • There is an opportunity to shape the sales strategy / industry focus, but rail engineering and industrial engineering (acoustic / noise control) are two sectors that have lots of potential.

  • This is a standalone role so you will manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, preparing proposals, negotiating, closing and liaising with the project management team.

  • Direct reporting line into the Sales Director for the UK business so lots of opportunity to shape things, you will be supported by a Project Manager and Customer Service team.
