Automation & Robotics Engineer

Fantastic job opportunity working with state of the art robotic equipment to help develop automated systems. You will work with a top alumni management team to implement cutting edge engineering technology.

Could potentially suit a recent Graduate with a strong inquisitive mindset. Someone who enjoys the nature of a R&D environment, a natural problem solver and flexible attitude.

Salary & Package: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE. Flexible working hours available. Excellent development opportunities.
 

Specific Qualifications/Experience:

  • Higher education degree in mechanical/mechatronic/electrical engineering or PhD or relevant disciplines.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent coding skills:  Python (or C) and LabView
  • Knowledge in robotic arms programming e.g. RAPID or RoboDK.
  • Inquisitive nature and interest in R&D with an excellent working knowledge of English.

Desired

  • GUI development using Python.
  • Basic computer vision systems and algorithms.
  • Experience in documenting progress to the technical team and to customers.
  • Valid working permit for the UK.
     

Responsibilities: 

  • Programming and operating robotic arms and gantry automation systems for industrial projects.
  • Implement company standard processes to deliver industrial projects – emphasis on data quality in a timely manner.
  • Software & hardware development and troubleshooting of a laser-based automated measurement system.
  • Programming of instrumentaion, data acquisition and signal processing software in LabVIEW.
  • Support R&D activities such as developing flexible snake-like robotic systems for on-engine measurements.
  • Perform high-precision measurements using scientific instruments, data management and handling.
  • The candidate is expected to contribute in refining existing processes and implementing new ones when needed
  • Produce process documentation, keep good record of activities, present results to the team and external customers.
  • Support daily laboratory activities and solve technical challenges independently and in a team, demonstrate creative thinking and deliver results to deadlines.
