AOI Operator

  • Hands on electronic manufacturing position within an established manufacturer.

  • No specific AOI experience needed, but some exposure to either SMT Operating / PCB Inspection would be required.

  • Chance to develop skills for and experienced PCB Technician.

The role is varied and will see you support PCB manufacturing across different areas. Experience of working with AOI machines would be a distinct advantage, but this role could suit someone who has operated either SMT / Pick and Place machines, or someone with PCB inspection experience. The majority of the time will involve operating the AOI, but you may sometimes support different areas within the PCB manufacturing process.

Salary & Package: c£27,000 to £30,000 DOE. 25 days holiday + banks. Overtime at x1.5 hourly rate – plenty available and completely optional.

AOI Operator Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating a brand new MyCronic Myi50 3D Automated Optical Inspection equipment to inspect PCBAs for defects.

  • Support several wider areas of manufacturing – such as operating a pick and place / SMT machine. Training can be provided where needed.

  • Final inspection of PCB products.

The AOI Operator Requirements:

  • Some proven experience in PCB manufacturing or inspection, with specific experience in AOI preferred.

  • Proficient in operating AOI equipment and software would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and common defects.

  • Basic understanding of electronics and component identification.
