Role will include; sourcing new engineering suppliers as well as building relationships with the current supplier base; negotiating terms; evaluating suppliers; conducting cost saving activities. Work collaboratively with suppliers to improve delivery performance and hold them accountable.

This job will suit:

• A Buyer or Technical Buyer or Purchasing professional accustomed to purchasing and procurement processes within an engineering or manufacturing business.
• We are looking for a Buyer who will not just source and purchase materials and consumables but also take ownership of the commercial and contractual process with suppliers.
• You will be joining a privately owned and friendly organisation who value working collaboratively with their suppliers whilst getting the best value for the business – we are looking for a candidate to fit that culture and way of working.
• Experience within an engineering or manufacturing organisation with metal based manufacturing processes would be beneficial.
• Relevant qualifications in purchasing (CIPS) or Engineering (HNC/HND) would be beneficial but purchasing experience in the right type of environment is the key.
