This Mechanical Design Engineer job will suit:

• Previous experience of working within a mechanical design or structural design focussed position ideally within a fabrication / sheet metal design engineering environment.  
• Any specific experience of designing material handling machinery, process plant, bulk handling equipment or similar products would be advantageous.
• Experience of using SolidWorks CAD or a similar 3D CAD software package such as Creo or Inventor.  
• You are likely to hold a relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) in a mechanical engineering or similar engineering-based discipline.

This Mechanical Design Engineer job will involve:

• Responsible for the structural design and mechanical design of process plant and machinery for the quarrying and mining industry.
• Using SolidWorks to produce 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Produce plant layouts and diagrams suitable for project tenders.
• Creating accurate production drawings for ease of manufacture.   
• Visiting customer sites to survey existing structures and to discuss project briefs.
