We are currently recruiting for a Manual Turner / Multiskilled Machinist to join a well established engineering business that support several sectors. As Manual Machinist, you will work on low volume projects that require good attention to detail. The job involves wider engineering duties, such as reading technical drawings and inspecting your own parts, so work remains engaging. There is scope to progress within this job, and would suit someone from an apprenticeship background. CNC experience would be a bonus, but not essential.

Salary: c£21,500 per annum depending on experience. 25 days holiday + bank holidays. Profit related bonus scheme. Over time is paid at x1.33 midweek, x1.5 on a Saturday, x2 on a Sunday.

Working Hours : 7:25am to 4:15pm Monday to Thursday, 7:20am to 12:30pm on a Friday.  

This Manual Machinist role will suit:

  • A proven Machinist or Machine Operator or Manual Turner that enjoys working on bespoke components.

  • Ideally from an apprenticeship background / engineering qualification due to the technical requirement e.g reading engineering drawings. This isn’t essential though if you have proven experience.

  • Someone who enjoys working within a small team. The culture is very good, management are very approachable and offer support where required.

  • Comfortable using basic inspection equipment / has an eye for quality.

The Manual Machinist job will involve:

  • Machining metal to produce custom parts used within bespoke machines.

  • Mostly using manual machines, potentially CNC machines too if you have experience / an interest in this area.

  • Working from technical drawings.

  • Inspecting finished parts to make sure they meet quality standards.

This job is commutable from Sheffield.
