Managing Director jobs role / MD jobs role with an £5m to £8m t/o engineering SME. The company are the number one European leading manufacturer of high speed electro mechanical equipment. This capital equipment is then sold into a variety of sectors including the food industry.

As statutory Managing Director in the UK you will need to A) manage a team of sales engineers and service engineers B) because it’s an SME you will still wear a ‘sales hat’ for senior accounts and to negotiate complex large value capital equipment sales C) financial reporting back to European HQ – as a result you will need to have strong P&L experience, a good handle on finance, balance sheets, consolidated accounts etc.

• Ideally a Managing Director who has experience working for engineering SMEs who supply capital equipment sales and service (maybe high speed packaging equipment, automation, electro mechanical plc controlled capital equipment). However MD / General Manager experience with full P&L responsibility within engineering SMEs is the key experience
• We are very flexible with regards to your sector experience (we just need that Managing Director experience in engineering SMEs)
• The company value loyalty so you will ideally have demonstrated length of tenure (with stints of 5+ years in your last 3 Managing Director appointments or similar)
• Finally you need that strong P&L experience, a good handle on finance, balance sheets, consolidated accounts etc.
