| Additional Information Our client is creating over 200 automotive research, development and design jobs in the East Midlands, with their investment in a new Research Centre focusing on powertrain, transmission and hybrid electric vehicle technology. To support the launch of this brand new facility, opportunities exist for commercial and technical specialists with experience for the following opportunity: Job Purpose: · To provide NVH, Acoustic, Vibration analysis and technical input and support across a diverse range of powertrain projects. The scope of work will include: Developing a core NVH function capable of undertaking dynamic modelling, simulation and modal analysis, specifying and managing packages of outsourced NVH engineering consultancy work and overseeing test and development activities. · To be involved in technology analysis, project reviews, project briefings and support activities for business development. · Manage outsourced packages of work with specialist engineering consulting companies. · Support the growth of the transmissions and driveline function within the company through recruitment and building associate network of business partners. Responsibilities: · Using simulation and analysis packages such as Ricardo WAVE, LMS and LAMPS and various in-house CAE tools, you will work with associates to produce NVH engineering solutions. · You will be expected to contribute to the growth of our engineering services by developing design methodologies, engineering processes and analytical capabilities. · You will be involved in all aspects of NVH powertrain development and will be expected to mentor and develop less experienced engineers within the team. Experience and Skills: · You will need to be degree qualified to a minimum level of 2.1, have at least 3 years experience in the detailed principles of NVH engineering and have in depth knowledge in the following areas: - Structural Dynamics Modelling - Modal Analysis - Signal Processing - Numerical Simulation - Matrix manipulations - Numerical Modelling - Test procedure design, development and management - Data acquisition and analysis - Acoustic measurement - Vibration measurement · You will have an ability to innovate, create, analyse and interrogate concepts and data; coupled with a willingness to learn and understand new concepts and challenge assumptions. |
