Our client is creating over 200 automotive research, development and design jobs in the East Midlands, with their investment in a new Research Centre focusing on powertrain, transmission and hybrid electric vehicle technology.

To support the launch of this brand new facility, opportunities exist for commercial and technical specialists with experience for the following opportunity:

This newly created post reporting to the Board of UK Operations will play a significant role in the leadership, planning, monitoring and control of engine development projects.

Key responsibilities will include ensuring that the engine design and development delivers optimised vehicle performance. This will be achieved by implementing a team of highly skilled engineers and providing them with technical leadership, guidance and support. There will also be a requirement to specify and manage packages of engine development work with external consultancies and test facilities

Ideally the successful candidate will be an experienced Chief Engineer or Technical Director with significant automotive powertrain engineering with a key focus on engine design and development. Preferably candidates will have developed their careers in an automotive OEM, R&D, engineering consultancy or tier 1 environment.

Chartered, degree qualified automotive or mechanical engineers who can demonstrate the ability to lead high performance cross-functional teams, specify and manage packages of engine development work with external consultancies and test facilities will have a distinct advantage. Qualifications must be supported by relevant recent experience.
Salary & Package
£75,000 - £95,000
