5. Recruitment of an Automotive R&D Engineer for a Far Eastern Company's New Technical Centre in Germany
When a Far Eastern Corporation wanted to expand their technical team in Europe, Euro-Projects were chosen to recruit for several technical positions ranging from Specialist Design Engineers through to Test and Development Engineers.
This extensive project was broken down into individual vacancy assignments, with the most appropriate recruitment techniques used to identify and select candidates for each position.
The role of a Design Stylist required a vehicle design and styling graduate with relevant automotive industry experience. Networking with relevant University alumni and identifying suitable candidates from their design portfolios posted on the internet enabled Euro-Projects to recruit an Automotive Design Graduate with experience working for a leading European car manufacturer. Our client was also able to benefit from this extensive and highly appropriate automotive industry knowledge.
When UK based recruitment activity failed to identify suitable candidates for a Development Engineer, extensive internet searching and advertising enabled a Product Specialist from America to be identified, following telephone interviews, face to face interviews in the Far East and UK he was appointed to this extremely difficult-to-fill vacancy. Euro-Projects also assisted by handling all the relocation arrangements and work permit application paperwork, taking all the time consuming administration away from the client and appointed candidate, allowing them to focus on their own business activities.
To support their growing base of customers in Germany, further recruitment local to this market was necessary.
Euro-Projects produced advertising copy, translated into German, and placed advertisements in relevant German press, following research into the most targeted publications to use.
Managing the response in accordance with German recruitment practice a selection of suitable candidates were chosen and interviewed by Euro-Projects in Germany. From these interviews, results were presented to the client with recommendations of who would be best to proceed with. Managers from the Far East and the UK operation then conducted second interviews with a refined short-list and proceeded to offer stage with the ideal candidate
