High climber heads for roof of the world
Date posted: Monday 14th October 2013
Euro-Projects Recruitment Founder & Managing Director and University of Derby graduate Steve Brown will embark on an epic climb in the Himalayas later this month (October), to raise money for international children's charity UNICEF.
Ahead of his trek the University of Derby's Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Coyne, presented him with a reproduction scarf to wear during his ascent, modelled on that worn by celebrated climber George Mallory during his ill-fated attempt to climb Mt Everest in 1924.
The scarf was reproduced in original materials by Derby Textiles experts in 2005 and further copies made this year for the University's International Office.
Steve - who graduated from Derby in 1993 with an HND in Business and Finance, before returning to do a postgraduate Certificate of Management Studies - is head of Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd of Coalville, Leicestershire, which he founded in 1996.
In the last four years he's helped raise over £30,000 for charities with treks through the Himalayas and Sahara Desert, in 2009 and 2010, for UNICEF; and a 2011 cross-Channel row for the British Heart Foundation.

Euro-Projects Recruitment sponsor World Wildlife Fund for Christmas
Date posted: Thursday 20th December 2012
As is our tradition, Euro-Projects Recruitment have once again chosen a charity to support at Christmas.
This year we have chosen the World Wildlife Fund and added our own twist, with each member of the team being sponsored an animal in their honour. It was no surprise to see our very own memory man Luke Smith earning the sponsorship of an elephant, as neither ever forgets, our Business Development Manager John receiving due recognition for his thick skin with a Rhino and Wendy was asked to come out of her "shell" (office) to receive her Turtle; any of our clients and contractors who regularly deal with Wendy will also know of her passion for SCUBA diving. With these and many more animals sponsored we hope our contribution will have a positive impact on the preservation of these animals and their habitats for the future.
Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd wins best practice award for third consecutive year
Date posted: Friday 7th December 2012
The 2012 Jobsite RecruitRank Awards Dinner took place on Tuesday night, 4th December 2012, to reward the UK’s top 10 recruitment agencies, based on candidate feedback. Recognising best practice and customer service in recruitment agencies, the Jobsite RecruitRank Awards are the only industry awards based purely on feedback from jobseekers and not the traditional peer judging panel.
Launched from a small Leicestershire barn conversion in 1996 with a mission statement: “To provide the highest quality, professional and friendly service; to our Clients and Candidates alike.” Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd. now located on Bardon Hills’ Forest Business Park has grown to become one of the UK’s leading Technical & Engineering recruitment consultancies in the UK, servicing the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Commenting on the company’s latest success, Operations Director, Ian Yoxen says “Although we have grown in size, we are committed to maintaining a personal touch with all our customers and ensuring job seekers receive the respect they deserve is integral to our values as a business.”
Launched in November 2005 by Jobsite.co.uk, with the aim of reducing candidate jobhunting frustrations and raising industry standards; RecruitRank is an online tool that tiers recruitment agencies on a daily basis based purely on the experiences of jobseekers. It enables candidates to feedback anonymously on the quality of an agency’s service after they have applied for a vacancy advertised by them on Jobsite. In turn, recruiters have private access to this feedback, which allows them to monitor and, if necessary, improve their service offering.
The RecruitRank Awards recognise those agencies with outstanding customer service, who achieved the highest levels of positive feedback over a 12 month period. Jobseekers’ feedback determined the winners of the Top 10 Recruitment Agencies of 2012.
Commenting on the award winners, Mike Wall, Jobsite MD, says: “We launched Jobsite’s innovative RecruitRank system as we recognise the difficulties recruitment agencies face in satisfying clients as well as candidates. It's often a thankless task, but the awards dinner rewards hard working recruitment agencies that have performed relentlessly throughout the year and who place a real importance on looking after the candidate as well as their clients."
Wall continues, “Jobsite’s RecruitRank is based entirely on candidate feedback, providing the industry’s most comprehensive insight into candidate needs and demands. Listening to this voice is critical for the future success of the industry as a whole. With several thousand recruitment consultancies eligible for inclusion in the RecruitRank Awards, these top 10 recruitment agencies stand out as examples of best practice in the area of customer service.”
